Chiron in the 12th house
Chiron in the 12th house is a hidden, often spiritual or inherited wound. You may carry pain you cannot name, or a family or collective wound. The healing comes through spiritual practice, therapy and service to the vulnerable. What you carry for others can become compassion rather than burden.

Is Chiron retrograde now? Yes. On 8 Oct 2026 Chiron is retrograde at 29°11' Aries, in a retrograde period that runs 3 Aug 2026 to 6 Jan 2027. It turned retrograde on 3 Aug 2026 at 0°52' Taurus and turns direct on 6 Jan 2027 at 26°16' Aries, crossing from Taurus back into Aries on 18 Sep 2026. Chiron retrograde is a time to revisit old wounds and heal them more deeply.

What it is like. Because this retrograde straddles the Aries–Taurus cusp, themes of courage and identity (Aries) and security and worth (Taurus) both come up. People with planets in late Aries or very early Taurus feel it most.

When is my Chiron return? Around fifty. In our chart engine's exact hits for people born at 12:00 UT on 1 January of every fifth year from 1915 to 2020, the Chiron return fell between ages 48.4–50.9 in every case. The Chiron square and opposition, by contrast, come at very different ages depending on your birth year.

What it is like. Because Chiron is so fast in Libra and so slow in Aries, people born on 1 January 1950 or 2000 meet their Chiron opposition at ages 36.5–37.2 and 35.6–36.4, while those born on 1 January 1985 or 1990 met it at 14.8 and 13.1–13.8. Chiron–Uranus aspects
Chiron–Uranus aspects link the wound with freedom, sudden change and being different. Chiron opposite Uranus, common for people born in the 1950s, 1960s and mid-1980s, brings a tension between belonging and breaking away; the healing comes through accepting your uniqueness.
Ephemeris facts. Chiron and Uranus meet only once in the engine's 1900–2100 record, in Leo (14 Nov 2042 at 17°25' Leo; 1 Jan 2043 at 16°46' Leo; 14 Jun 2043 at 14°36' Leo). Their oppositions come in long waves (22 Feb 1952 to 15 Nov 1956; 13 Nov 1964 to 12 Aug 1974; 17 Aug 1985 to 18 May 1989).

Chiron–Neptune aspects
Chiron–Neptune aspects link the wound with spirituality, sensitivity and compassion. Chiron conjunct Neptune, as in 2010, gives a generation sensitive to collective suffering. The hard aspects can bring confusion around healing, or a pull towards rescuing others; the work is compassion with clear boundaries.

Chiron–Pluto aspects
Chiron–Pluto aspects link the wound with power, crisis and transformation. Chiron conjunct Pluto gives a generation that faces collective trauma and transforms it. The square and opposition bring deep healing crises that strip away what is false and leave real strength behind.
Ephemeris facts. Chiron and Pluto met in Leo (19 Jul 1941) and Sagittarius (30 Dec 1999), and meet next in Aries (13 Apr 2069 at 2°19' Aries; 12 Oct 2069 at 1°59' Aries; 2 Feb 2070 at 1°46' Aries). Pluto opposed Chiron for years (24 Apr 1961 to 31 Dec 1965), and the next square runs 9 Jul 2028 to 28 Apr 2030.

Chiron–North Node aspects
Chiron conjunct the North Node puts healing at the centre of your life path. Your direction asks you to turn your wound into a gift for others. Chiron on the South Node suggests an old wound to accept and move beyond.
Ephemeris facts. Chiron and the mean North Node meet every 13.77 years on average. The last conjunction was on 5 Mar 2024; the next opposition is on 20 Oct 2031.

Chiron in synastry
Chiron in synastry brings healing and wounding into a relationship. When one person's Chiron touches the other's Sun, Moon, Venus or Mars, the Chiron person may touch a sore spot or help heal it. These bonds can feel deeply familiar and therapeutic, or painful.
What it is like. Chiron–Venus contacts bring tender, healing love; Chiron–Moon contacts touch emotional wounds; Chiron–Sun contacts touch identity. The work is awareness: naming the wound rather than projecting it.
The gift is mutual healing. The work is not making your partner your therapist.
Vedic astrology note
Chiron is not used in traditional Vedic astrology. Parashara's system uses the seven visible planets and the lunar nodes. Some modern astrologers add Chiron to sidereal charts, but classical texts such as the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra do not. In the sidereal zodiac Chiron is currently in 4°57' Aries.
