Section 1Who we are
Natal Blueprint is operated as a sole trader business by its owner ("we", "us", "our"). Our website is located at www.natalblueprint.com.
We are subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where we have customers in the European Union or United Kingdom, we also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. Where we have customers in California, USA, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Section 2What personal information we collect
When you place an order, we collect the following information directly from you:

We also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is collected via standard server logs and is used for security and site improvement purposes only.
We do not collect or store payment card information. All payments are processed directly by Stripe — see Section 6.
For our free Natal Basic report, you enter birth details and an email address so we can generate a one-off PDF. We do not retain your birth details in our systems as standalone data after your chart is calculated and your report is produced. We send the PDF to you as an email attachment; we do not store a copy of your Natal Basic PDF on our servers for you to download later. The attachment includes your birth information as printed on the document. When you request a free Natal Basic report, you provide consent to receive your report by email. You may also receive occasional related emails; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you (see Section 5).
For our free Natal Big 3 Cards tool, you enter birth details and an email address so we can calculate your Sun, Moon, and rising sign for that visit. We do not store your birth chart or birth details in our customer database for that tool. Your details may be sent to our astronomical calculation provider for the live calculation, and short‑lived server cache files may be used to limit repeat API calls. If you separately tick marketing consent, we store only your name and email address for that purpose (see Section 5).
Section 3How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To generate and deliver your report. Your birth details are used to calculate your astrological chart and generate your personalised report. This is the core purpose for which your data is collected.
- To send you transactional emails. We will send you your report by email, along with a secure download link and any necessary order communications (e.g. if there is a problem with your order). These emails are part of the service you have purchased and do not require separate consent.
- To process your payment. Your order details are passed to our payment processor (Stripe) to complete your transaction.
- To send marketing communications, but only if you have explicitly opted in. See Section 5.
- To maintain records for financial and legal compliance. We retain order references, product type, and purchase status for seven years in accordance with Australian tax law.
- To improve our service. Aggregated, anonymised usage data may be used to understand how our service is being used.
We will not use your information for any purpose that is incompatible with the reasons listed above without your consent.
Section 4AI processing of your birth data
Natal Blueprint uses artificial intelligence (AI) language models to generate the written interpretation of your astrological chart. The AI is used within a framework designed by professional astrologers—including curated prompts and technique priorities—so that interpretations stay grounded in real astrological doctrine and do not hallucinate. To generate your report, your birth details — including your name, date of birth, time of birth, and birth city — are transmitted to a third-party AI provider via their secure API.
For Consultation Session (member Q&A with Mara Vance), we build a precise natal chart using your birth time and a verified birth location (latitude, longitude, and time zone — resolved via a geocoding service such as OpenCage when you pick a place from the suggestions). You enter those details at the start of a consultation session, and we reuse the computed chart for that active session. Raw birth details are not retained on your member profile. The chart engine snapshot may also include a factual transit‑to‑natal aspect read for “today” to ground timing language. Your questions and Mara’s answers (the chat transcript) may be archived in your member account after the session ends or idles out, as described on the consultation page. We apply data minimisation by default and avoid retaining raw birth details beyond what is required to generate chart output for the active session.
What this means in practice: When you place an order, your birth data travels from our server to an external AI provider's servers for processing. The AI generates your report text, which is then returned to us and compiled into your report (delivered to you as a PDF file). Your data is not stored by the AI provider beyond the duration of the API call, in accordance with their standard API data policies.
We may use one or more AI providers for this purpose. These may include companies such as Anthropic, Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), Perplexity, or similar services. The mix of providers may change over time as we evaluate the quality and reliability of different systems.
Similarly, your birth details are transmitted to our astronomical calculation provider (astrology-api.io) to generate the precise planetary positions, aspects, and chart data that underpin your report.
All AI and data providers we use are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and are subject to data processing agreements. We take care to select providers who do not use API inputs to train or improve their models.

Section 5Marketing communications
We will only send you marketing communications — such as astrology insights, new product announcements, or special offers — if you have consented or where we have a legitimate interest in contacting you. On paid orders, the marketing consent checkbox on the checkout flow is unticked by default. Requesting a Natal Basic report constitutes agreement to our Privacy Policy. You may also receive occasional related emails as a result; you may unsubscribe from any follow-up emails at any time using the link in any email. On our free Natal Big 3 Cards tool, you may tick a separate checkbox to hear about offers, insights, and news from Natal Blueprint; if you do, we store your name and email address for marketing only (we do not store your birth data from that tool for marketing).
Where a product uses email confirmation or an unsubscribe link (for example, older weekly email lists), we describe that at sign-up; each message includes a way to opt out.
Completing a purchase does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive marketing communications.
When you opt in, we record:
- The fact that you opted in (a boolean true/false value)
- The date and time you submitted the form (which serves as your consent timestamp)
- The version of this privacy policy in effect at the time of your consent
Where you have opted in, your first name and email address may be shared with third-party email marketing platforms to send you those communications. See Section 6 for details of third parties.
You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email we send you, or by emailing privacy@natalblueprint.com. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal, nor does it affect our ability to send you transactional emails about your orders.
Section 6Third-party service providers
To operate our service, we share your data with the following categories of third-party providers. All providers receive only the data they need to perform their specific function.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not allow third parties to use your data for their own marketing or profiling purposes.
Section 7International data transfers
Natal Blueprint is based in Australia. However, several of our service providers are located outside Australia — in particular in the United States. By using our service, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Australia, including the United States.
Where we transfer data outside Australia, we take steps to ensure it is protected in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including by selecting providers who are subject to appropriate data protection frameworks or contractual safeguards.
For EU and UK customers: where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
Section 8How long we keep your data
We apply a data minimisation approach — we do not keep your data longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected.

When data is deleted or stripped, it is removed from our active database. Server backups are rotated on a regular schedule and will be overwritten in due course.
Section 9Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:
- Access. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion. You can ask us to delete your personal information, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records (see Section 8).
- Restriction. In certain circumstances, you can ask us to restrict how we process your data.
- Portability. Where applicable, you can ask us to provide your data in a portable format.
- Objection. You can object to our processing of your data for marketing purposes at any time (see Section 5).
- Withdraw consent. Where we are processing your data on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please email us at privacy@natalblueprint.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
Australian customers: If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au. We would appreciate the opportunity to resolve any concerns with you directly first.
EU/UK customers: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Section 10Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function correctly. These include session cookies that maintain your form state during the checkout process.
Where required by law, we also use analytics cookies to help us understand how visitors use the site, including cookies used by Google Analytics 4 (GA4). We only activate analytics cookies (and load GA4) after you opt in.
Section 11Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the version number and date at the top of this page.
Where changes affect how we use data that we have already collected under a previous version of this policy, and where those changes require your consent, we will contact you to seek that consent before the changes take effect.
We recommend reviewing this policy periodically. The current version is always available at www.natalblueprint.com/privacy-policy.php.
