Six retrogrades of the personal planets run between October 2026 and the end of 2027: Venus once, Mars once and Mercury four times. This page lists each one with its exact station dates and degrees, then shows how to find where it lands in your birth chart.
Stations and retrograde periods
Seen from Earth, a planet sometimes appears to slow down, stop and move backwards through the zodiac for a few weeks. The stopping points are its stations: it stations retrograde when the backward motion begins and stations direct when forward motion resumes. The stretch in between is the retrograde period, and the two station degrees mark the span of the zodiac it covers twice.

The next retrogrades after 2027
- Mercury: stations retrograde 24 Jan 2028 at 19°41′ Aquarius and direct 14 Feb 2028 at 3°59′ Aquarius.
- Venus: stations retrograde 10 May 2028 at 19°41′ Gemini and direct 22 Jun 2028 at 3°10′ Gemini.
- Mars: stations retrograde 14 Feb 2029 at 13°55′ Libra and direct 5 May 2029 at 24°55′ Virgo.
How a retrograde touches your chart
The house. Find the two station degrees in your birth chart. The house that holds them is the part of life the retrograde reviews: the 2nd for money, the 7th for partners, the 10th for career, and so on. When a retrograde crosses a house cusp, both houses are involved. House positions depend on an accurate birth time.
The contacts. Then look for natal planets or angles (Ascendant, MC) within about 1° to 2° of either station degree. A station that sits on a natal planet is felt far more than one that falls in an empty part of the chart, and it is the clearest sign that a particular retrograde is personal to you.

Retrogrades that overlap the eclipses
Mars is retrograde from 10 Jan 2027 to 1 Apr 2027, so it is retrograde through the whole February 2027 eclipse season and through Mercury's first retrograde of the year (9 Feb to 3 Mar).
